Prague 8 is a diverse district, just like the people who live here. Alongside Libeň and Karlín, it includes the large housing estates of Bohnice, Ďáblice and Čimice, rapidly developing areas along the Vltava River, as well as established residential neighbourhoods. For some families, Prague 8 has been home for generations; others are only now putting down roots here. We are united by one simple goal: a good quality of life for everyone. We want to live in a place where it is good to live, work and spend our free time.
Prague 8 is developing, but nowhere near as much as it could. Residents rightly expect a more active local government, better planning and more consistent care for public spaces. The district administration should be a partner that makes everyday life easier, takes care of the neighbourhood and does not neglect public spaces. That is why we are presenting a programme that combines concrete investment in schools, playgrounds, pavements, parks, public services and community life with responsible financial management and a lower burden on residents.
We want a Prague 8 where people can enjoy a good quality of life. A Prague 8 where young people can afford their first home, families have access to affordable nurseries, schools and playgrounds, and older residents feel safe and can lead active lives. A Prague 8 where everyone can find the services they need close to home. A Prague 8 where people enjoy spending time outdoors, meeting their neighbours and being part of a vibrant community.
Our programme is based on a simple idea: an open and well-functioning local government can make everyday life easier. Less unnecessary bureaucracy, more tangible results. That is why we are combining responsible financial management with projects that people will see directly in the streets of Prague 8. At the same time, we believe in greater trust and cooperation with the people who actually live here. We want a district that thinks in the long term. What we plant and build today will be used by our children thirty years from now; what we fail to do or neglect today will be left for them to fix.
We will not promise impossible projects or create more strategies that end up gathering dust on a shelf. With us, Prague 8 will be cleaner, safer, more accessible and more pleasant for everyday life. We will turn good ideas and great projects into reality, so that people can enjoy the results right here in their own streets.

Eight Goals for Prague 8
1. Three new nurseries, two new primary schools and 50 new or renovated playgrounds Every child in Prague 8 deserves a place at a school close to home and a high-quality education that prepares them for life in the 21st century. To make this a reality for both current and future residents, we will support the construction of three new nursery schools and two new primary schools.
It is equally important that children have enough space to play, exercise and spend time with their friends. We will prepare a plan for 50 new or substantially renovated playgrounds, sports facilities and leisure spaces. We will focus on housing estates, courtyards, areas around schools and parks, as well as locations where such facilities are currently missing. Every year, we will publish an overview of the projects and report on their progress.DDDEEEE
2. A safer Prague 8 Safety is a basic condition for a good quality of life. Residents have the right to feel safe in their neighbourhood, on their way to school or work, and when using public spaces.
That is why we will focus on problematic locations. We will strengthen prevention and community-based social work, improve the quality of public spaces and work closely with both the Municipal Police and the national Police of the Czech Republic.
3. A new coalition, new pavements Pavements are the foundation of a city that works.
We will launch a systematic programme to repair the worst sections, particularly around schools, nurseries, public transport stops, healthcare facilities and shops.
When carrying out repairs, we will consistently remove barriers that make movement difficult for parents with pushchairs, older people and people with reduced mobility. We will publish a repair plan and regularly report on its implementation.
4. From A to B — easily, safely and quickly Transport should not be just a political issue. It is the everyday journey to work, school or the shops.
We want people to be able to move around Prague 8 comfortably on foot, by bicycle, by car and by public transport. We will support the development of new tram lines, better connections between city and suburban public transport, and safer pedestrian crossings and intersections.
We will also focus on school streets, the planned tram line from Kobylisy through Bohnice to Podbaba, and finding solutions to parking problems in areas where blue parking zones are currently missing or do not meet the needs of local residents.
5. Housing and services close to home Prague 8 will continue to develop, with thousands of new apartments expected to be built here. But new buildings alone are not enough.
For Prague 8 to remain a good place to live for both current and future residents, new housing must be accompanied by schools, nurseries, parks, sports facilities, healthcare services, shops and other amenities.
We will work consistently with developers to ensure that new construction helps create fully functioning neighbourhoods, including the necessary community facilities and transport infrastructure.
We also want to make sure that established neighbourhoods retain the services people need for everyday life. Because a vibrant neighbourhood is about more than housing. It needs a bakery, pharmacy, café, butcher, stationery shop and other local services.
We will support the creation and continued operation of at least 50 local shops and businesses. We will help bring empty premises back into use and support services in areas where they are currently missing.
Your first home is not an investment. It is a home.
We want to support people who decide to build their lives in Prague 8, start families and put down roots here. That is why, in cooperation with the City of Prague, we will look for concrete ways to support affordable home ownership, including cooperative and rental housing.
6. Less bureaucracy, more services for everyone We want a modern local government that does not make people's lives harder over small fees and does not waste time on inefficient paperwork.
We will push for a review of local fees and look for ways to simplify them, digitise their administration or abolish them entirely where the cost of collecting a fee is higher than the revenue it generates.
A typical example of absurd bureaucracy is the current dog ownership fee. Instead of complicated paperwork and administrative checks, we want to move towards digitalisation and greater efficiency.
A significant part of the fee is currently consumed by administration, while the money collected does not adequately contribute to keeping our streets clean. We want to change that.
Instead of unnecessary administration, we want to invest in better services for dog owners and the people who share their neighbourhoods. Less money spent on paperwork, more money spent where people can actually see the results.
7. Libeň Chateau and its surroundings as the cultural heart of Prague 8 Libeň Chateau and its surroundings deserve to come alive again.
We will open the chateau more fully to the public, transform the courtyard into a space for concerts, theatre and community gatherings, and turn the area around the chateau into a place where people will want to spend time.
The area will provide space for farmers' markets, cultural events and community activities.
We want the area around Libeň Chateau to become a natural centre of social and cultural life in Prague 8.
8. A new Maniny Park and a Prague 8 ready for climate change More trees, more water and less scorching asphalt.
We will plant new trees, manage rainwater more effectively and create more shaded, pleasant spaces for people to live and spend time.
We will support the installation of solar panels on municipal buildings and the development of community energy projects.
We will expand the network of public drinking fountains and misting systems and, during periods of extreme summer heat, establish public cooling centres.
Together with the City of Prague, we will build a new Maniny Park.
We want to create a place for sports, walks, meeting people and everyday relaxation — a place that can become one of the most important new public spaces in Prague 8.
